Coolidge Park Elopement

Kayla held her Papaw’s hand as they walked toward the ceremony site at Coolidge park.  When he saw Morgan his eyes lit up and he gave her the sweetest hug.  It was so sweet to how much love he had for both of these women!  He told me “Kayla is our girl, she has always felt like ours”.  He was referring to his late wife and Kayla’s grandmother.  Who he told me would have loved to have been there.

I literally teared up when I saw how he embraced Morgan.  His generation isn’t known for their acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community and I was SO MOVED to see how easily accepting and loving he was.  It really highlighted my own assumptions about my elders and I felt a little embarrassed that I was so surprised to see his excitement for his granddaughter.

This elopement was perfect for this easy-going and fun couple.  I’m so glad they chose a Coolidge Park elopement in the morning so it felt like we had all of Chattanooga to ourselves.

Kayla and Morgan,

Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your special ceremony and my first ever same-sex wedding!  I was so honored for the opportunity!  You two truly have a special and sweet connection.  It’s always a joy to see two best friends get married!  Congrats to you both and I wish you all the happiness in the world!
