Love Stories

I have had the honor of photographing and telling hundreds of love stories as a wedding photographer in Chattanooga.  Please take a look around for ideas and inspiration for telling yours.

Why you need a wedding coordinator

I had the pleasure of interviewing Kate Harper with VLove Events on Instagram Live.  She had alot of great tips and advice for brides.  They were so great I decided to put a few great tips together for the blog.  Make sure you follow me on Instagram so you can tune in for my next LIVE interview with a wedding vendor!

Tip #1 Realize you don’t know everything you need to know to plan this alone

You need someone to worry about the details you haven’t even thought about yet.  If you have never planned a wedding you truly don’t know what you don’t know about weddings.  Finding, hiring, and trusting a professional will make sure all your bases are covered and all you have to do is sit back and take in the day.  There are SO MANY DETAILS you don’t want to be worried about when your day comes!  Trust me!  Things as simple as making sure your dress stays clean and you are fed/hydrated can make a huge difference in how you feel on your wedding day!

Tip #2 Pick your top three

When you are in the baby stages of planning sit down with your fiance and decide what are your top 3 priorities.  It could be food, photos, guest experience.  It could be video/audio of our vows, a beautiful location for photos, and making sure we have some time to ourselves at some point during the day.  Maybe you love flowers and design and the decor & layout are a big priority.  Maybe you both love to dance and party and you want to have a high-end MC/DJ that will keep the night rolling and organized.  There are a thousand decisions, so narrowing down you top three so you can prioritize in the budget is HUGE.

Tip #3 Find vendors you trust and “click” with

Research your vendors!  Look for reviews online and/or ask for references.  This is another huge benefit to working with an established planner because they will be able to point you in the right direction.  They will be able to tell you who you can trust.  It is especially important you “click” with your coordinator and photographer.  You will spend ALL DAY with these people.  The last thing you want to worry about is navigating any kind of personality conflict on your wedding day.  You want to feel comfortable with them and be able to trust their professional judgement.

I hope you enjoyed these tips!  If you are interested in hiring me, mention this blog post at our initial meeting and if you also hire Kate you will receive a free gift!  Click over to our about page to learn more about me and reach out to me if you need a wedding photographer!

Caty & Simon got married at her grandmother's private estate inside the Sandestin resort in Florida.  They fell in love chatting by the water so it only made since they say their vows here too.

It's not every wedding that starts with a luxury car in a venue styled like a tuscan villa and ends with karaoke and fireworks!  This wedding was EPIC!
